A guide to hospitals and clinics in Penang that shows where every fact comes from, so you can decide where to go with facts you can check.
What you can find here
- 17 hospitals, 6 of them government hospitals, with accreditation from the national register and who owns each one, where we could confirm it.
- 116 government clinics: klinik kesihatan, village and community clinics, maternal and child health clinics and dental clinics.
- 34 private GP clinics, 8 of them open 24 hours, with opening hours as each clinic publishes them.
How much is covered
This is an early version, and it is not complete. We list 34 private GP clinics so far, from clinic groups whose own websites publish their details. Penang has many more, and we add them as we check each one. We list 11 private and non-profit hospitals; Penang has more, and we add them once checked.
Private specialist, aesthetic and dental clinics, and opening hours for government clinics, are not here yet. We would rather leave a gap than guess.

MedicalPenang is not affiliated with the Ministry of Health, the Penang state government, the Penang Centre of Medical Tourism or any hospital group.
How it will be paid for
Clinics and hospitals will be able to pay for extra visibility, such as a place at the top of a list or a fuller listing with photos. Every paid place will be labelled “Sponsored”, and paid places never appear inside a comparison table. We will never take a share of anyone’s treatment fees, and we will never sell a patient testimonial.
